A priceless gift

Vanderbilt Children's Hospital has been such a wonderful gift to our family. Not that we don't own a whole wing :) Just kidding but we tease them we do. Their staff, doctors, surgeon's, researchers, nurses and family life team have been a true blessing to our family. John has always referred to them all as his team and we know God leads that team to great success! John is proof of that.

VCH and JP Dumont of the Nashville Predators gifted our family with a wonderful surprise. In celebration of John's successful open heart surgery and for being the brave boy he is they presented us with tickets to last Thursday's game. We had tickets for Dumont's Den - his personal suite. We just had the best time ever and I cannot say Thank you enough for the gift of his smile and happiness that night. The pictures give more justice than words could ever. Thank you Mr. Dumont for the smiles!

Great News

It has been a very busy winter. John had some discomfort in the cold but other than that has remained healthy and done very well. We want to update that he had an appointment last Thursday. The doctors ran all the same test - stress test, EKG, Echo's etc... He is doing very very well. So great in fact that he is now released to have a regular diet and can do whatever he wants. He is so excited he is clear to play soccer and whatever other sport he wants to play. They do not feel he will ever need the pace maker. So we have an all clear.

Tom and I want to thank all of you for your love, cards, calls, meals, gifts, encouragement and support. We could not have done any of it without all of you. We are truly blessed.

So with 8 surgeries behind John and so far only yearly check-ups for his heart, kidneys and implant - we can move on to the next phase. We will keep you updated as to his progress and of course when we head into the next surgeries for reconstruction.

Love to all,
Angela and Tom
